Is the free plan really free?
Yes, and it has no end date. You get unlimited tasks, points and rewards, up to 5 linked people, photo proof, repeating tasks, reminder emails and live sync on every device - without ever entering a card. Plus and Pro raise the limits and add the extras; they don't unlock the basics.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Grill Task runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. On a phone you can use "Add to Home Screen" and it behaves like a normal app. The iPhone app is coming to the App Store, and it shares the same account and the same data.
How does photo proof work?
When you assign a task you can tick "require proof". The person doing it takes a photo (or picks one from their library), checks it looks right, and sends it. You see the photo next to the task and either approve it - which awards the points - or ask for a redo with a note about what needs fixing.
Can my kids or teammates cheat the points?
Not easily. Points are only awarded when the person who assigned the task approves it, and each task can only ever pay out once. Repeating tasks that get finished suspiciously early ask "it hasn't been a week yet - finish early anyway?" before they count. Points are also tracked per assigner, so points earned from one parent can't be spent on another's rewards.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted the moment a plan ends. You drop back to the Free plan, keep your account, your people, your points and your rewards, and only the paid extras switch off. Tasks and proof photos older than your plan's history window are cleared over time - 30 days on Free, 180 on Plus, two years on Pro. Points never expire.
How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?
Cancel any time from Profile → Manage subscription; you keep everything until the end of the period you already paid for. If you're not happy with a payment, email contact@grilltask.com within 3 days of the charge and we'll refund it. Refunds aren't automatic - you do have to ask - and cancelling on its own doesn't refund anything.
Is the free trial safe to try?
The 3-day free trial is on the Plus monthly plan. Cancel before it ends and you are charged nothing at all. We also show a reminder in the app the day before the trial turns into a real payment, so it can't quietly sneak up on you.
Who can see our tasks and photos?
Only you and the people you're linked with. We don't sell personal information and we don't use your content for advertising. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe - they never reach our servers. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
